Based on the anatomy of a bee, I created a design canon which served as an important grid tool to use in my work. Incorporating the norms of book and print design, I devised a book folding technique that had to be in sync with the content, illustration and most importantly, the design canon.
As part of the exercise, I used the poem 'Words' by Sylvia Plath. I created the illustration
based on my understanding of the poem.
